Commercial Work Trucks Help Winter Storm Woes

As a severe winter storm pounds the northeastern United States, the nation is bracing for even more snow, ice, and freezing temperatures. If you own a commercial work vehicle and want to earn some cold cash, you’re in luck.  There are plenty of opportunities to do so.

More than a foot of snow was dumped in areas of New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio causing slick roads, driveways, and sidewalks. Vehicles equipped with snow removal set-ups or that can distribute snow melt are greatly needed.

Heavy snowfall is also bashing into North Carolina and Tennessee, adding insult to injury after the tornadoes that recently blew through. In addition to needing help digging out from the snow accumulations, the states are desperately begging for help with clean up from the tornadoes and high winds.

What Trucks are Fit to Do the Work?

There is a myriad of jobs that are needing to be done including snow removal, spreading snow melt, and loading up debris from the tornadoes to take to the dump.  A variety of commercial work trucks are equipped to do the work.  Below you’ll find a list of commercial work trucks and some of their capabilities:

Dump Truck:  Since a Dump Truck is designed with a hydraulic ram that allows it to lift from the front so material can be deposited on the bed, it is excellent to assist with moving large amounts of snow or debris.  Dump Trucks are the base on which many winter service vehicles are based on. They can be equipped to hold sodium or calcium chloride salts for de-icing and melting snow off surfaces.  They are also very efficient plowing machines due to their extreme weight.

Bucket Lift Truck:  When severe weather strikes, limbs and trees are often affected.  To remove those that are in danger of falling, a Bucket Lift Truck is typically used in order to reach and remove them.  Other situations call for Lift Trucks too such as repairing traffic lights and electric power lines.

Cab and Chassis:  A Cab and Chassis is the perfect solution to provide customized services to places in need.  A Cab and Chassis can be outfitted into a number of types of service vehicles such as emergency responder trucks and so forth.

Box Truck:  Box Trucks are useful for delivering supplies to ravished areas.  They can transport medical supplies, food, water, and many other items that are needed for survival.

Flatbed Truck:  When there are irregular sized items to be hauled, a Flatbed Truck can be employed because the bed of the vehicle is not confined.  From transporting huge pipes for repairing drainage systems to removing fallen trees due to storms, Flatbed Trucks are oftentimes used in the aftermath cleaning and repair phases of winter storms.
